Latest Happenings - DISC 2020
This morning I was reading about David and Goliath. Goliath was on the Hillside taunting the
Israelites for 40 days and 40 nights. Israel was paralyzed with fear of this “giant”. They were
cowering down in the “bunker” afraid to move! Then, along came David and declared “for who
is this uncircumcised Philistine, that he should defy the armies of the living God? 1 Samuel
17:26”
This passage reminds me of how for the last 40+ days, America and the world has been cowering
in fear of the virus, the media, the government, and ourselves, etc. and has become immobilized
to act on the freedom we were given at the Cross of Calvary by our Lord and Savior Jesus
Christ!. I believe God is definitely doing a new thing and as the 40 days approach, I believe He
is giving us a new “backbone” to step and act on His behalf and take back what the devil has
tried to steal from us - and that is our very lives.
In this parable, I believe Goliath represents the world system of fear and death, and David
represents the courage, power and strength of the Church in this hour. I believe the Church of
the Lord Jesus Christ is in the process of “rallying” together to come as the Body of Christ and
witness the greatest time of soul harvest we have ever known. We will take the authority as
displayed by David and rise up and take back what the devil has strived to steal from us! We

In the meantime, an update on what we have been doing during this “shutdown, shutoff, etc”.
Thanks to you, our precious partners and friends, who continue to give, pray and love us, we are
continuing pray and to minister to our 30 men in our residential discipleship program at our
Crandall location, our 8 women plus children in residential discipleship housing in Balch
springs, and our 8 women in our residential discipleship facility in Dallas. In addition to our
discipleship, we continue to minister to whomever from the streets who show up at our facility -
through 3 meals a day, showers, clothing, Bible studies, etc. We have erected a tent in our
parking lot (thanks to Mike Sandone) where we meet, and the people are allowed to sleep and
rest (social distancing). Most in this area have no place to be and we are grateful to have his tent
- - plus we have rented a portapotty for their use. We are also taking food to the streets as we
have it available, helping people monetarily in emergencies as we can. We provide
transportation to hospitals and appointments as necessary. All of this is in addition to continuing
working on getting donations etc. to sustain our ministry. I must say from my heart, God and
you have been faithful!
AND....... we can’t wait to get back together and worship again in our church again. Our
discipleship here at the church have really been stepping up and been so instrumental in helping
our people who come through here broken and torn! I appreciate the DISC staff so much. They
are the best! All of us are missing our daily time together but are trying to be as safe as
possible. Hopefully, by June 1, we will again be gathering in our church on a regular basis. As
the Lord leads!!! At this season, we don’t want to be out of HIS will in any area! He will lead
“a cloud by day and a fire by night”! We will follow!
Thank you for “hanging” with us during this time. Your prayers are sooooo needed!! You and
yours are definitely in our prayers!
