ABOUT OUR

History

Since inception on December 3, 1997, at 420 South Ervay in the heart of downtown Dallas (across from the library and Dallas City Hall), the Dallas International Street Church (DISC) has served as a beacon of light to our beloved homeless community.

Men’s residential services were offered for the first time in 1998.

Women's residential services were offered beginning in 2004.

In 2004, DISC moved to South Dallas and operated from a tent for two years, remaining focused on helping the homeless and broken people from the inner city.

In 2010, DISC moved to Second Avenue, where church services continue to be held Sunday morning at 11:00 a.m. and Tuesday through Friday nights at 7:00 p.m. We serve breakfast, lunch, and dinner to approximately 200 people every day.

2010, the great ice over drove many into DISC for warmth and shelter from the cold. DISC was on a media channel for helping. Benevolent offering for Kaufman facility happens after news feature.
